Air Flow Monitoring
Automatically Adjust Your Fuel Pipe Balance From The Control Room

automatically adjust fuel pipe balance Measuring Ideas Consulting (mic) was established in April of 2001 for the purpose of developing and providing power plant operators with instrumentation to help optimize the coal combustion process. It was recognized that a potential area for cost savings is the application of fuel and air balancing systems within the pulverized coal combustion complex. image - optimum port configuration Principle Setup Arrangement The measurement technique is based on the latest high frequency microwave technology available. MIC provides our clients with real-time data showing the coal distribution and velocity per coal pipe. The systems standard set-up uses three (3) sensors per coal pipe, which are located about 120 degree apart around the circumference of the pipe. In many instances the sensors can be inserted through existing coal sampling ports. The (3) sensor set-up is capable of providing more precise data in poor test locations.
The Permanent MIC System
Allows customers to diagnose coal flow imbalances and assess the effectiveness of orifices installed in the coal pipes. Since the microwave system provides a real-time continuous measurement, the effects of changes can be assessed at various loads and during transients. The data collected can be transferred to either the plant control network or a dedicated computer terminal.
