Infurnace Burner Optimization

Steam power plant operators in view of growing concerns for the environment and climate change, have come under significant pressure to lower greenhouse gasses emissions. LP Amina offers solutions for T-fired, Wall fired and “W” furnaces ranging from 50 to over a 1000 MW. Our solutions are based on a complete evaluation of the firing system and will typically include the combination of burner modifications, OFA and SOFA systems to lower NOx, reduce slagging and improve efficiency. Combustion system modernization highly depends on experience and requires the consideration of many design parameters. Utilizing the latest combustion optimization technology, our Low NOx solutions can not only reduce NOx by as much as 70% but can also improve unit efficiency by reducing UBC and/or reducing dry gas lose.

SCR/SNCR Technology

LP Amina continues to extend its advanced combustion engineering services and related products offering in China. With over 20 years of engineering expertise in combustion optimization and emission reduction and leveraging proven SCR technology on over 50,000 MW, LP Amina has customized solutions tailored to address the unique challenges facing the Chinese power industry, such as unstable coal supply, high ash and low volatile coals. The company has successfully completed projects in China to improve combustion stability or reduce emissions on coals with volatile matter below 10%, ash content above 40% and/or FC/VM greater than 5.

Classifiers

LP Amina has recently patented a static classifier for bowl type pulverizers. This classifier provides a cost-effective method to deliver improved nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission reduction. Traditional methods of NOx reduction include Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR). Our classifier is an optimization of the SNCR technology and can improve the performance of this system by additional 10-15% NOx reduction and 0.5-1% unit efficiency gains. A further benefit is the ability to install the classifier in various locations including boilers, metallurgical melt furnaces, incinerators and other furnaces. These flexible efficiency gains make our classifier an economical investment as well as an environmentally friendly one.
